‘Kept repeating’: Sky presenter shares what he heard from the Arsenal bench right at the end of Brighton game

Sky Sports presenter David Jones shared what he kept hearing from the Arsenal bench during the final stages of the win at Brighton last night.

Arsenal moved back to the top of the Premier League with a 3-0 win at the Amex Stadium on Saturday evening.

Mikel Arteta’s side put in a dominant display on the road as goals from Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz and Leandro Trossard earned them a crucial three points.

It’s fair to say that last night’s result never really looked in any doubt, with the Gunners dominating from the off.

Saka’s penalty gave Arsenal a deserved lead in the 33rd minute before Havertz and Trossard rounded off an impressive display.

But one moment summed up the Gunners’ defensive resilience of late as Gabriel Magalhaes made a last-ditch block to prevent Joao Pedro from getting a clear shot at goal.

It led to his teammates celebrating the moment as if they had netted another goal.

And following their third clean sheet on the bounce in the league, David Jones claims that he could hear the Arsenal bench expression the importance of not conceding at Brighton.

What the Arsenal bench ‘kept repeating’ during win at Brighton

Speaking on Sky Sports’ coverage of the game, Jones shared what he kept hearing from the Arsenal bench on Saturday evening.

“And they kept repeating on the bench just in front of us ‘Let’s get a clean sheet, let’s make sure we do not concede’. It is that important to them,” the presenter said.

Arsenal’s win at Brighton in numbers

Despite having less possession than Brighton on the night, it was yet another dominant performance from Arsenal.

According to WhoScored, the Seagulls had 54 per cent of the ball but Arteta’s side carried more attacking threat throughout the game.

Arsenal had 20 shots on goal to Brighton’s 10, with Roberto De Zerbi’s men managing just two on target in comparison to the Gunners’ seven.

Arteta’s side managed to create 3.38 xG at the Amex, with Brighton managing just 0.57.

The north Londoners have made a habit of shutting down opponents of late and it’s fair to say that Brighton barely threatened their goal last night.
