Ian Wright and Gary Lineker agree about 'very impressive' thing Arsenal have now done

Gary Lineker and Ian Wright were both left impressed with one thing Arsenal managed last night against Brighton & Hove Albion.

The north London side extended their unbeaten Premier League run and kept yet another clean sheet in what was to be a 3-0 win for the Gunners down on the south coast.

With Arsenal top at the time of writing, the result was a big one for Mikel Arteta’s side, with many agreeing that this fixture against Brighton was a potential banana skin for the Gunners.

Yet speaking on Match of the Day, Lineker and Wright were in agreement that the best thing about Arsenal’s performance was once again their defending.

Lineker said about Arsenal’s display at the back against Brighton: “Another win for Arsenal, lots of good football to boot, but also five away clean sheets in a row, that’s impressive.”

Wright added by saying: “It’s very impressive, especially what happened at the end of last season. Defensively, they’ve just gone to another level.”

It’s a cliche as old as time that attack wins you games yet defence wins you titles, but for Arsenal, there can be some real truth in the statement.

The north London side have traded in their swash-buckling attack of last season with a more tamer yet efficient system that has allowed Arsenal to really shore up at the back.

And the results are proving just how effective such a change has been, with Arsenal in a good position to challenge for the title as well as the UEFA Champions League, with Bayern Munich coming up on Tuesday.
