Gary Lineker reveals his prediction for Premier League title winner after latest Arsenal and Man City wins

Gary Lineker has admitted he thinks Arsenal will win the Premier League title ahead of rivals Manchester City and Liverpool.

And he's claimed it's 'written in the stars' because of Ian Wright leaving Match of the Day at the end of the season.

Arsenal continued their hunt for a first league crown since 2004 with a 3-0 victory over Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Saturday.

Goals from Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz and Leandro Trossard gave the north London giants all three points to ensure they return to the top of the table.

Earlier in the day, City had beaten Crystal Palace 4-2 at Selhurst Park.

Kevin de Bruyne was magnificent, with the midfielder bagging a brace, with Rico Lewis and Erling Haaland also on target.

Speaking on Match of the Day, Lineker tipped Arsenal for the title.

And he addressed Wright by saying: "Picture the scene, last day of the season.

"Arsenal need a win to win the title on the very last ever Match of the Day that Ian Wright is on. It’s written in the stars bro."

Arsenal imploded in the title race last term, with City going on to win the prize.

But the Gunners look unstoppable at present, with Mikel Arteta's side clearly playing with confidence.

Brighton had represented a potential banana skin for the north London giants given their quality.

However, after Saka put Arsenal ahead, Arteta's team simply went through the motions.

The Spaniard, speaking after the full time whistle, dubbed his side 'outstanding' and 'disciplined' while reacting to the result.

“I’m really happy, it was a big performance,” Arteta told Sky Sports.

“They haven’t lost here since August and that tells you the story, they are a really, really good team, extremely well coached.

“They make life really difficult for you, but I think today we were outstanding and we needed that level to beat them today.

“We showed a lot of quality in certain areas of the pitch and with the ball we were really connected.

"We had real purpose and clarity about where to attack, when to attack against a shape that they had that was slightly different than what we expected.

“And then without the ball, we were so disciplined.

"When we were high up the pitch, they are the best team in the league at breaking that press and then you have to track back.

"And then we stayed really disciplined and we were really humble to be in certain positions, to be patient and regain the ball.

“We prepared [for their tactics] because they did something similar to against Liverpool away, [something] which they never do, and they did it in the other side today.

"We prepared because we knew that it could happen but we didn’t know the approach.”

Arsenal Mikel Arteta

Arsenal won't have too long to dwell on their latest win.

Arteta's side are next in action in the Champions League on Tuesday night, with Bayern Munich up next.

Bayern have endured a nightmare season under Thomas Tuchel, with Bayer Leverkusen set to win the Bundesliga instead.

Yet they remain a dangerous side and it'll be fascinating to see how their European tie plays out.
