Motorcyclist dead after hitting a telephone pole in N.J. shopping plaza

A 24-year-old motorcyclist was killed Saturday night after he struck a telephone pole in a shopping plaza parking lot in Mercer County, police reported Sunday.

Manuel Ramones-Vicuna, of Hamilton, was riding his motorcycle through the parking lot of Independence Mall on Broad Street in Hamilton Township around 7:40 p.m. Saturday when the crash occurred, authorities said.

He hit the guidewire to a telephone pole and was thrown off his bike, police said.

He died at the scene from his injuries, according to police.

The crash is under investigation by the Hamilton Township Police Department.
