In the town of Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region, a resident was killed as a result of yesterday's Russian shelling, April 7, states Anastasiia Miedviedieva, a spokesperson for the Donetsk region prosecutor's office.

According to her, the attack by Russian forces on the town occurred on Sunday morning.

"As a result of the enemy's attack, a 51-year-old resident was killed," the prosecutor's representative said.

In addition, she added, Russian occupiers also shelled the village of Yelizavetivka in Pokrovsk district. A 63-year-old man was injured there due to enemy strikes. The victim was taken to the hospital.

A pre-trial investigation into the violations of the laws and customs of war by Russian military personnel has been initiated (Part 1 and Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Russian shelling in the Donetsk region

It should be noted that the Russian army regularly strikes various settlements in the Donetsk region. The frontline cities and villages suffer the most from enemy shelling.

For example, as a result of artillery strikes by Russian forces on April 6 in the Pokrovsk district - in the villages of Kurakhivka and the town of Krasnohorivka - five people were killed. Among the victims were a 38-year-old mother and her 16-year-old daughter.

It should be noted that earlier Russian occupiers struck New York in the Donetsk region on April 4. As a result, two people were killed. The occupiers carried out four air strikes on the city. It is worth noting that at the beginning of March, Pokrovsk also came under heavy shelling. The occupiers launched rockets at a residential area.
