An adviser to Trump's campaign headquarters has dismissed The Washington Post's piece as "fake news." He emphasized that the US presidential candidate will not adopt a peace plan until he comes to power and can properly weigh all options, according to the New York Post.

"The whole thing is fake news from the Washington Post. They’re just making it up. President Trump is the only one talking about stopping the killing. Joe Biden is talking about more killing," said Trump's adviser Jason Miller.

Previously, The Washington Post wrote that people familiar with Trump's plan said that he privately stated that he could end Russia's war against Ukraine by pressuring Kyiv to give up certain territory.

Trump's peace initiatives

In March 2023, Donald Trump promised his supporters to "end Russia's war against Ukraine within 24 hours" if elected President of the United States in the elections on November 5 of that year.

At the same time, he noted that he would allow Russia to take some Ukrainian territories to "avoid war."

In addition, Trump said that if re-elected as President of the United States, he would push for negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.
