All the best solar eclipse fast food deals from the likes of Wendy’s and Burger King

To celebrate April’s rare solar eclipse, some of America’s biggest fast-food retailers are offering deals brighter than the sun will soon be.

On April 8, the moon will move in front of the sun and effectively block its rays for around 2 hours. The celestial phenomenon will span Mexico to the very eastern tip of Canada, as reported by the BBC. The next one won’t be experienced until 2045.

Krispy Kreme

Krispy Kreme is one of countless fast food joints offering yummy deals for hungry solar eclipse viewers. To celebrate the occasion, the brand has launched a limited-edition treat called the Total Solar Eclipse Doughnut.

“Eclipses are rare and so is our out-of-this-world Total Solar Eclipse Doughnut. Even if you can’t be in the path of totality you can get in the path of these treats, which you will eat in totality,” said Dave Skena, Global Chief Brand Officer for Krispy Kreme.

The doughnuts are available individually or by the dozen in a special box also containing 6 original glazed doughnuts.

Pizza Hut

The pizza chain is offering customers a great deal in the form of its Total Eclipse of the Hut promotion. On April 8 only, large pizzas are being repriced at just $12!

The promotion can be obtained through carryout, dine-in, and delivery and it also covers the brand’s make-your-own menu featuring 10 toppings.

Dunkin’

Not to be left in the solar eclipse dust by Krispy Kreme, Dunkin’ is also offering its own deal in the form of a $3 Medium Cold Brew. The drinks can only be purchased via the app.

7-Eleven

7-Eleven, who last week launched hot-dog flavored water, is also jumping on the pizza bandwagon. The promotion is only available to 7NOW Gold Pass subscribers, who can also expect to receive free eclipse-viewing glasses with their $3 pizza.

Sonic

Last month, Sonic drive-thru announced a new slush float in an eye-catching black color. While stock lasts, customers will also receive a free pair of glasses.

“Sonic Drive-In is giving fans an out-of-this-world experience for the rare North American Total Solar Eclipse on April 8 with the launch of the new Blackout Slush Float,” Sonic said in a press release.

Burger King

Members of Burger King’s Royal Perks loyalty program should immediately text ECLIPSE to 251251 if they want to fill up in time for the show.

After messaging the number, you should receive a coupon with a buy-one-get-one-free Whopper deal which is available until April 15.

Applebee’s

Once you’re full to the brim with pizza, burgers, and doughnuts, why not finish the night with a bespoke cocktail from Applebee’s?

For the occasion, their bartenders have whipped up the Perfect Eclipse Margarita comprised of Patrón Premium Silver Blanco Tequila, Citrónge Orange Liqueur, plus Monin Blue Raspberry and Passion Fruit syrups, and lemon and lime.

Snacks, snacks and more snacks

Though you might be unable to eat any more food, snacks are a mandatory feature of any viewing party. Luckily, lots of American snack brands have heard your cries.

MoonPie is offering its own survival kit featuring four chocolate mini MoonPies and two pairs of Eclipse Glasses. Perfect Bar also launched a new flavor, the Chocolate Brownie, to celebrate the April 8 solar eclipse.

If you’re near your laptop and skilled at speedy ordering, then you could get yourself new flavors from SunChips. Through their website, they are now offering Limited-Edition Pineapple Habanero and Black Bean Spicy Gouda chips.
