The Israeli air defence system shot down a suspicious aerial target that entered the country's airspace in the Eilat area, according to the Times of Israel.
Times of Israel, citing the IDF, reports that the target was shot down by the Iron Dome system installed on a ship, known as C-Dome.
There were no damages or casualties.
Prior to this, sirens warning of an invasion by enemy aircraft or drones sounded in the southernmost city of Eilat.
Threat of war between Iran and Israel
On Monday, April 1, a missile strike hit the Syrian capital of Damascus. As a result of the attack, the building of the Iranian consulate was destroyed. 13 people were killed, one of whom was the senior commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Mohammad Reza Zahedi.
Iran officially blamed Israel for the attack and promised a harsh response. Israel has not commented on the event.
The CIA warned that within 48 hours Iran could launch a military operation against Israel.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that his country will be able to defend itself and will act according to a simple principle: whoever attacks Israel or plans to attack will suffer themselves.
GPS is being blocked on Israeli territory to disrupt possible missile and drone operations. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have also announced the cancellation of all leaves for soldiers serving in combat units.
The US has declared a state of heightened readiness due to a possible strike by Iran on targets in Israel, including American ones.
After that, Iran turned to the US with a request to step aside.
