Bayern Munich superstar now set to start vs Arsenal, he was in training yesterday

Bayern Munich will have one of their star players back tonight when the German giants face Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League.

The reigning Bundesliga champions have this week seen a number of key figures return to training, with Matthijs de Ligt and Kingsley Coman all back for Thomas Tuchel’s side.

With the German title essentially in Bayer Leverkusen’s hands, the Champions League presents a chance for Bayern to win silverware having not won Europe’s biggest prize since 2020.

And as per the Evening Standard, Neuer is now expected to start for Bayern with the goalkeeping legend back in training with the German giants yesterday.

The 38-year-old shot-stopper remains one of the best in the world and a key player for Bayern, with Neuer’s return a massive boost for Tuchel and his side.

And for Arsenal, Neuer starting tomorrow could be a major issue for the Gunners, even with Mikel Arteta having a fully fit squad to choose from at the Emirates Stadium.

Indeed, the north London side will want to make a statement against Bayern, yet Neuer’s return could cause some issues for Arsenal when the curtain raises on the Champions League quarter-finals.

Bayern’s form this season might make for encouraging reading for Arsenal, yet history matters in the Champions League, as do figures as great as Neuer.

The veteran goalkeeper remains one of the best in the world between the sticks and has been key in recent years in knocking Arsenal out of the Champions League.

Whilst Arsenal have the firepower, the Gunners know they need to be at their best if they’re to beat a legendary goalkeeper like Neuer in this Champions League series.
