The 20-year-old, of South End, Cold Ash, is charged with assaulting Sgt Christopher Little in the execution of his duty in Newbury on May 6 last year.

Ms Goulding, who was legally represented at the hearing by Heulwen Everton, spoke only to confirm her details and to plead not guilty to the single charge.

She was told the case could proceed no further that day and that it would be adjourned for a trial to be arranged.

Deputy district judge Paul Booty meanwhile released Ms Goulding on unconditional bail.
