Real Madrid and Man City team news

Manchester City will continue to be without defensive duo Nathan Ake and Kyle Walker for the crucial match-up as they nurse injuries.

Neither have travelled with the squad to Spain but Josko Gvardiol has made the trip despite his own injury concern.

The Croatian was taken off at half-time against Palace and didn’t train on Monday so it remains to be seen if he can play.

Real Madrid have concerns of their own, though, with Thibaut Courtois and David Alaba both out for the season.

Real Madrid and Man City players at risk of suspension

Los Blancos have four key players who are a booking away from suspension, meaning they will miss the second leg if they are shown a yellow card at the Bernabeu.

Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Jr, Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni will all be walking on a tight rope as the two sides face off.

For City, only Ruben Dias is at risk of missing the second leg, but that is a significant danger given the Blues’ injury woes at the back.

Real Madrid vs Man City prediction

With so many injuries at the back, especially losing the best chance to combat Vinicius’ pace with Kyle Walker out injured, it’s going to be a difficult one for City.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side have also enjoyed a week off so will go into the game fresh and raring to go.

The Blues will at least be able to take confidence from the fact they advanced past Madrid last season and will likely try for a draw in the Spanish capital again this time around.

Prediction: Real Madrid 1-1 Manchester City.
