Chris Sutton says the Premier League title is ‘Arsenal’s to lose’ because of one factor

Chris Sutton has claimed the Premier League title is now ‘Arsenal’s to lose’ due to one key remaining factor.

The Gunners currently sit top of the standings on goal difference with Mikel Arteta’s side statistically the best side in the Premier League with the most goals scored and the fewest conceded this season.

Unbeaten in 2024 in the league, the north London side have gone up another gear since the turn of the year, with Arsenal dominating opposing teams whilst also giving up hardly any chances.

And speaking on the Monday Night Club, pundit Sutton has claimed the Premier League title is Arsenal’s to lose due to how easy their remaining fixtures are compared to Liverpool and Manchester City.

Whilst most Gooners would argue that Arsenal’s last seven games are harder than their title rivals, the north London side’s form suggests that no team is a match for Arteta and his squad.

Indeed, upcoming games against Aston Villa, Wolves and Tottenham will be a real test of Arsenal’s resolve, and wins in all three fixtures could give the Gunners the validation they need to march on to the Premier League title.

Sutton said: “I had a good look a the remaining fixtures, and I think it’s Arsenal’s to lose. You look at the remaining fixtures, and other than Tottenham away, I think Arsenal’s fixtures are pretty generous.”

City and Liverpool’s insane rise to the top of English football has brought along the unfortunate side effect of teams needing to be perfect if they’re to realistically challenge for the title.

Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp have brought in an era where win upon win is needed if a team like Arsenal are to lift the Premier League come the end of the season, and Arteta’s side need to do just that.

With seven games remaining, there’s a real chance that Arsenal will have to win every single one if they’re to end their 20-year search for a league title, and Arteta is aware of the task that is currently ahead of him.
