Report: Man City have thought about signing ‘frustrated’ player from Bayern Munich this summer

Manchester City have reportedly thought about one of Bayern Munich’s star players this summer.

Even though the Blues are in the midst of a crucial point of their season in terms of attempting to regain the three titles they won last season, some behind-the-scenes details have emerged regarding one potential transfer move they could make during the upcoming summer window.

A recent report from The Independent had this to say on the matter.

It said: “Jamal Musiala has been so frustrated with this season that other European clubs – including City – have wondered whether he might be buyable this summer.”

After making 30 appearances for Bayern’s youth sides, scoring eight goals and delivering three assists in the process, the 21-year-old has since played in 158 games for the first team prior to tonight’s Champions League match against Arsenal.

Across those 158 matches, the attacking-midfielder has scored 43 goals and supplied 30 assists.

This season has seen the German feature in 33 games for Thomas Tuchel’s side across all competitions, finding the back of the net on 12 occasions and delivering seven assists.

With 23 Bundesliga appearances under his belt in this campaign, Musiala has racked up the second-highest number of successful take-ons (85) and goal-creating actions (17) in the Bayern squad, as well as having the third-highest number of passes into the penalty area (41).

This highlights how much of a dangerous and creative player he is.

His overall performances have earned the midfielder an overall season rating of 7.7/10 from WhoScored, making him the third-highest-rated player at Bayern behind Harry Kane (7.79/10) and Leroy Sane (7.75/10).

Should City try and sign the Bayern star in the summer?

Bearing in mind how Bayern have fallen significantly behind Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga this season and how there has been much speculation about Tuchel’s position and future at the club, it’s understandable why Musiala may be frustrated at the moment.

Taking all of that into account, we feel that if an opportunity to sign the Bayern star were to arise during the upcoming summer transfer window, we feel that this is definitely something that City should look into.
