Stansted Parish Council to consider response to Government’s night flight proposals that could see restrictions scrapped

Government consultation on increased night flights at Stansted Airport, the future of Elms Park and November fireworks will be the key topics at tonight’s (April 10) Stansted Parish Council meeting.

Members of the public can attend in person or via an online Zoom link to listen to the discussions.

The latest planning applications will also be up for consideration while the chair Cllr Maureen Caton and Stansted’s district members give their latest reports.

The main issue councillors will focus on is their response to the public consultation on changes to night flight restrictions, which could see the Government removing all of its current statutory restrictions on night flights at Stansted, which have been in force for over 40 years.

Stansted Airport Watch claims it is “the most important public consultation for a generation”.

The meeting is held at the Mountfitchet Exchange from 7.30pm.
