'He asked me': Joao Felix now makes an ominous claim about £300,000-a-week Man City player

Manchester City fans are gearing up for another summer of speculation regarding the future of Bernardo Silva – and Joao Felix has made some rather interesting comments about the maestro.

Bernardo has been linked with an exit from City now for the past few summers.

It is thought that the 29-year-old is not a particularly big fan of living in Manchester or the English weather.

He has long been happy to play for such a brilliant team and is a hugely popular figure in the dressing room at the Etihad. But there has been talk for a good few years now about him moving on to play for a club in a warmer climate.

Barcelona have been linked with him several times over the past couple of years, and it could be that they try to sign him this summer.

Barca landed Ilkay Gundogan at the end of his City contract last summer, and have also previously signed Ferran Torres and Sergio Aguero.

Bernardo is a player they’ve coveted for a long time though, and now, Joao Felix has added some fuel to the fire…

City fans rejoiced last summer when it became clear that Bernardo wasn’t going anywhere.

He had once again been linked with Barca, and Paris Saint-Germain were also credited with an interest in the £300,000-a-week man.

He signed a new deal, and it is thought that the new contract included a release clause. Fabrizio Romano reported recently that that clause is worth around £50 million.

A section of the fanbase is expecting Bernardo to finally leave the club this summer – and seemingly, he may already be planning for it himself.

Barcelona forward Joao Felix, who is an international teammate of Bernardo, is quoted by Mundo Deportivo as saying: “If Bernardo Silva comes, I’m going to ask for a commission! Everything I’ve said is true and if he comes they’re going to be delighted with him.

“He is very careful with everything and asked me places to live, places to eat, about security. He asked me a little bit about everything and I said about the tax issues because that’s what came to mind.”

Asked ‘Have you convinced him?’, Felix replied: “I think so, I think so. Well, but now I don’t think it’s up to him.”

The comments come after Felix stated last week that he really hoped Barca would sign his compatriot this summer.

Bernardo’s time at Man City could be coming to an end

Bernardo has been an utterly sensational player for City over the years.

Without any doubt, he’s one of the finest signings the club have made since the 2008 takeover, and it will be such a huge shame when he finally does leave.

That moment could finally come this summer, given that very tantalising £50 million release clause, which is far below his true value. Ultimately, City may not have been able to keep him this season without agreeing to that clause.

The idea that he has been asking Felix about life in Barcelona does point to him moving on this summer, and fans cannot blame him for going.

It’s seemingly something he has wanted for a while, but he has never ever let his levels dip for City on the pitch. It’s just one of those things, but he should certainly go with the good grace of the supporters.
