As expected, Rob Dillingham is taking his talents to the NBA, declaring for the draft while forgoing his remaining college eligibility in an announcement made Tuesday.
The projected top-10 pick went public with his decision live on ESPN with NBA Today.
“With the help of my team, my longtime manager Rico Grier, I have decided to sign with Klutch and enter my name into the 2024 NBA Draft,” he said.
Dillingham’s time in Lexington comes to a close with a season average of 15.2 points, 3.9 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game while shooting 47.5% from the field and 44.4% from three.
The former five-star recruit is currently the No. 4 overall prospect in ESPN’s list of best-available players in the 2024 draft.
Dillingham is the second Wildcat to declare for the draft while forgoing remaining eligibility while Aaron Bradshaw and Adou Thiero both announced they’d be testing the waters while entering the transfer portal.
John Calipari’s departure from Lexington guarantees a roster exodus — if one wasn’t expected anyway. That wasn’t going to impact the 6-3 guard’s decision as a potential top-five pick, but it’s certainly the first of many dominoes to fall in short order.
