Vanderpump Rules star 'likes limbo and confusion' as co-star was 'led on'

It’s not only Vanderpump Rules fans who are weighing in on the Tom Schwartz and Jo Wenberg ‘non-relationship-relationship’ this April. His co-stars are critiquing his moves, with some suggesting he ‘led her on’ after growing close in season 11.

Tom seems pretty nonchalant over the outcome of his ‘kind of romance’ with Jo. And, that could be due to the fact he’s already experienced the highs and lows of love. After joining Vanderpump Rules in season 1, over 10 years ago, he’s likely used to reality TV drama. He and Katie Maloney‘s wedding aired on the show during season 5 as did the breakdown of their marriage. Now fans are seeing the aftermath. The season 11 spotlight is shining on Tom and Katie as they both vie for the attention of the same woman in one episode. He also had a ‘thing’ with Jo, adding confusion upon confusion, but according to his co-stars, that’s apparently what Tom “likes.”

Tom and Jo’s humble beginnings

Pump Rules stars Tom and Jo never burst onto the scene with a relationship announcement, their bond quietly emerged and has now equally as quietly gone away, by the looks of things.

During the show, Tom explained how Jo was “staying with him,” and he defended her at the season 10 reunion when Katie had some things to say about her.

Tom declared the two simply had a great connection and had hung out at her hair salon.

Speaking to Us Weekly last year, it was clear to see Tom and Jo had become more than just friends, but he still kept their situationship on the down low. Tom described her as a “bada** hairstylist” and a “dear friend,” as well as a “beautiful soul.”

He added: “We’re not dating or living together.”

Tom ‘likes limbo and confusion’

As Tom tiptoed around the idea of him and Jo being an item, rumors continued to circulate about them dating.

However, things are officially over between the two as Pump Rules season 11 episode 11 airs.

The Bravo show’s aftershow saw Tom’s co-stars weighing in on what went down between him and Jo.

James Kennedy said he felt Jo was “in love with Schwartz,” but Schwartz “would just call her… at 2:01 am….a text comes through… I feel like Schwartz was leading her on when he was like drunk and stuff.”

Brock Davies added: “He likes limbo, he likes confusion.”

Fans appeared to be feeling for Jo during episode 11 as Tom kisses another girl. They’d said the L-word to each other, and Jo had visited Schwartz’s family, so naturally, she could think they were more than just friends.

One account wrote on X (Twitter): “Not only did Schwartz lead Jo on, but the way he broke up with her on-camera, hiding behind his ‘Oh golly gee’ persona, was so dark.”

When it came to whether he was “breadcrumbing Jo,” Schwartz said they “always had a clear line of communication.” He added: “If it wasn’t for that, I would probably say guilty as charged.”

Schwartz and Jo are ‘still super cool’

Speaking during the after show, Schwartz explained how Jo “wasn’t an occasional hook-up buddy.”

He added: “We were super tight,” and said how it was difficult “…being so fond of her and still wanting to maintain a friendship but not in a romantic way.”

Nowadays, Tom says he thinks they’re “…both seeing other people.”

Speaking of their current status, he added: “It’s a significantly watered-down version of what it used to be. Still friends. No bad blood or hard feelings, I don’t regret it, it was super fun.”
