Nottinghamshire County Council’s 2024/25 road maintenance plan is approved - with details of work for our area revealed

Highways bosses have agreed a £66.5million investment for the next year — and this is which roads are set to be repaired or resurfaced.

As the highways authority, Nottinghamshire County Council is responsible for the upkeep of most public roads, aside from major A roads and motorways which are the responsibility of National Highways.

The funding was allocated in the council’s 2024 to 2025 Highways Capital and Revenue Programmes — which were finalised on Monday (April 8) — and includes £33million for road and highway asset improvements.

Prioritisation of works in the programmes involves analysis of technical condition survey data and local knowledge, and the schemes have an increased emphasis on well-used roads and recent storm damage.

The proposed schemes will still be subject to consultation, feasibility studies and detailed scheme investigations, design and value for money considerations.
