Richard celebrates LGBTQ+ Hilton Cambridge City Centre win

Hilton Cambridge City Centre is celebrating general manager Richard Finn, who was awarded the Hilton’s LGBTQ+ Champion award at the Gaydio Pride Awards 2024.

The award recognised dedication in improving LGBTQ+ lives in the UK, with a specific emphasis on regional and grassroots initiatives, while also expressing gratitude to the unsung heroes within the community.

The award criteria was to seek out an LGTBQ+ champion who excelled in their role and demonstrated allyship in promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace, and that put Richard in the frame. He had played a role in sponsoring and promoting the city's first two successful Pride events in association with Pink Festival Organisation.

Richard's inclusive leadership also led to the hotel welcoming its first transgender member in management development programme, a comprehensive nine month programme designed to prepare first-time managers in hospitality, rotating through all functions of the hotel to gain complete understanding of the business, and set them up for success.

The programme acts as a stepping stone for employees to further their careers with Hilton.

Richard said: “I'm proud and humbled to receive this recognition for my efforts at Hilton Cambridge City Centre.
