'Absolutely devastated': Kieran Tierney says he's so upset after what happened at Celtic

If there was ever a former player who had one eye on Celtic’s game with Rangers on Sunday, it’s Kieran Tierney.

The Arsenal defender is currently on loan at Real Sociedad andenjoying a run in the Spanish club‘s first team.

Having suffered a hamstring injury at the start of the season, the former Celtic man returned to action in February and in the four games he has appeared in, Sociedad have lost one and were victorious in their last three La Liga matches.

However, that hasn’t stopped Tierney from keeping an eye on his boyhood heroes and admits that the Ibrox game was ‘one of the best’ he has seen in recent times.

Kieran Tierney ‘devastated’ at Celtic’s draw with Rangers

During Tierney’s time at Celtic, he faced Rangers 13 times winning 10, drawing two and losing just once. The Scotland defender created four assists in those games as he helped Celtic win a Treble Treble and he has admitted that the 3-3 scoreline on Sunday left him ‘devastated’. [Transfermarkt]

Tierney said [talkSPORT], “One of the best games I’ve watched in a long time. Absolutely devastated not to hold on to the victory.

“But to be honest, to go there with no fans and come away with a point and have the title in your hands still is all we can ask for after a game like that.”

I suppose taking a point from Ibrox under those circumstances is a good result but I can kind of understand what Tierney means by being disappointed not to take the win when 2-0 up and then 3-2 with less than ten minutes to go.

However, any Celtic fan would have taken a draw before kickoff, especially when we found out that Callum McGregor was not starting.

As it stands, the title is in our own hands and that is something at this stage of the season we all wanted.
