After stepping down from his role as lead prosecutor in Donald Trump's Georgia election interference case, Nathan Wade is saying he's broke and cannot pay his ex-wife's alimony, according to a court filing.
“With the income from [Wade’s] employement as the Special Prosecutor no long coming in, and with income from [his] private practice being diminished, [he] is no longer able to … meet the financial obligations set forth in the temporary order,” the filing read, as reported by the New York Post. It refers to his separation agreement.
Wade was forced to step down after it was revealed that he had a romantic affair with Fulton County District AttorneyFani Willis.

Wade now seeks to hold a hearing that will determine if the amount he owes in spousal support will be lowered from the previous figure he agreed to pay his ex in a temporary settlement that was reached in January. The ex, Joycelyn Wade, accused him last week of refusing to pay child support for their two children. She's also asking for money to cover her rent and medical expenses.
"She claimed she spent all her money — which she would have used for much-needed surgery — on their son and daughter after Wade abruptly cut them off telling them 'get the money from your mother,' the papers claimed.
"Joycelyn was left with less than $1,000 a month after Wade stopped paying her and she needs funds to pay for her declining health — which also prevents her from working, she alleged," The Post's report stated.
Joycelyn is even asking the court to jail Wade until he starts honoring his financial obligations to her.
Willis was accused of financially benefitting from her relationship with Wade after he allegedly took her on trips and bought her gifts with the money he earned from his salary as a prosecutor.
