The fallout from T’Vondre Sweat‘s DWI arrest continues for the Texas Longhorns football program. According to an incident report courtesy of LoneStarLive.com, another driver was listed as being involved in the incident. That individual was none other than redshirt freshman linebacker S’Maje Burrell.
Since the news broke of Burrell’s involvement in the incident, Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian has addressed the university’s plans for action. He also updated the redshirt freshman linebackers’ current status with the team.
“We’re aware of the situation involving S’Maje Burrell and have suspended him indefinitely from all team activities for conduct detrimental to the program,” said Sarkisian, according to On3’s Joe Cook of Inside Texas.
According to the team over at Inside Texas, Burrell is also expected to enter into the NCAA transfer portal in search of a new home for the 2024 season.
