Harry Kane praises ‘dangerous’ Arsenal star as Mikel Arteta told to be ‘very concerned’

A round-up of the latest Arsenal news as Mikel Arteta is told to be ‘very concerned’ and Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane praises one ‘really dangerous’ Gunners star.

Leandro Trossard admits Bayern Munich showed Arsenal ‘need work’

Belgium forward Leandro Trossard believes Bayern Munich showed Arsenal ‘need work’ in two key areas in the Champions League. The Gunners rescued a 2-2 draw in the first leg of their quarter-final tie on Tuesday night. Trossard scored Arsenal’s reply in the 76th minute.

It was the 29-year-old’s 13th goal through 38 appearances so far this season and his fourth across eight European ties. Trossard drilled the ball home past Manuel Neuer after Gabriel Jesus weaved his magic to reply to Serge Gnabry (18’) and Harry Kane’s (32’ penalty) goals.

Now, Trossard feels Bayern Munich have shown Arsenal where they can deal the damage at Allianz Arena next Wednesday. But the first leg of their quarter-final affair also proved to the winger that Mikel Arteta’s team must improve their use of the ball if Arsenal are to progress.

“I think it will be a tough game there, as well,” Trossard has told Arsenal’s in-house media. “They’ve shown how they can hurt us. So, I think we need work on that for next week.

“And to be honest, I think if we’re at our top level, we can beat them. I think maybe on the ball today that wasn’t the case. So, we know what we’re going to work on. But, hopefully, we can finish it there.”

Harry Kane thinks Arsenal have a ‘really dangerous’ striker in Gabriel Jesus

Harry Kane has praised Gabriel Jesus for giving Arsenal a ‘really dangerous’ outlet against Bayern Munich in the Champions League. The England captain admired the impact the Brazil star had on the first leg of their quarter-final after helping the Gunners to rescue a 2-2 draw.

Jesus started the tie on the Gunners’ bench but Mikel Arteta turned to him after 67 minutes while 2-1 down. It proved to be the catalyst behind Arsenal’s comeback as the striker’s quick footwork worked the ball into Der FCB’s area, before teeing Leandro Trossard up to equalise.

It was Jesus’ sixth assist during 29 appearances across all competitions so far this term. He also boasts eight goals, with half struck in seven Champions League ties and the rest scored in 21 Premier League outings. But it was Jesus’ chop that merited Kane’s praise this Tuesday.

“It was a tough game,” Kane stated, via quotes by Chris Wheatley. “Jesus is really dangerous in the box with the chop he has. [In] my last season at Tottenham, they were really strong. They’re a really good team. They’re top of the Premier League for a reason.”

Jurgen Klinsmann warns Mikel Arteta to be ‘very concerned’ in the Champions League

Jurgen Klinsmann has warned Mikel Arteta to be ‘very concerned’ about Arsenal’s hopes for advancing past Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals. The Gunners will fly to Bavaria for the second leg on April 17 after taking Der FCB to a draw at Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal started brightly with Bukayo Saka (12’) punishing Eric Dier for inviting the forward to shoot and break the deadlock. But mistakes from David Raya proved costly after mindlessly rushing off his line before Serge Gnabry’s goal and diving very early for Harry Kane’s penalty.

Now, Klinsmann feels Bayern Munich have an edge as the Allianz Arena side are accustomed to the occasion, unlike Arsenal. He also feels Thomas Tuchel’s side will be extra motivated to eliminate the Gunners given Bayer Leverkusen could secure the Bundesliga title this Sunday.

“If I was [the] manager of Arsenal, I would be very concerned about the Champions League situation going into Munich,” he told ESPN FC. “They are against a very experienced Bayern Munich side, who are now hungrier than ever after the very negative Bundesliga season.”
