'The truth is': Javier Mascherano says one Liverpool player works so hard, he leaves 'everything on the field'

Javier Mascherano has heaped praise on one Liverpool player who has been heavily linked with a move away from the club this summer.

The Reds are currently second in the Premier League table, level on points with Arsenal. They have already won the Carabao Cup and are the favourites to win the Europa League as well.

Jurgen Klopp‘s side are having a fine season, and Mascherano, a former Red himself, is delighted with how well his old side have been playing.

One Liverpool player in particular has caught Mascherano’s eye now.

Javier Mascherano tells Luis Diaz why he should not leave Liverpool

Liverpool star Luis Diaz has been in the news a lot over the last few weeks, hasn’t he?

The Colombian has had a brilliant season. He has looked really good for the Reds on the left flank and has been earning a ton of praise.

Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool fans are absolutely delighted with Diaz’s performances, but there are others who have stood up to take notice of the former Porto man.

PSG have been heavily linked with a move to sign Diaz this summer as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who looks like he’s on his way to Real Madrid.

Antena2 have shared some quotes from Javier Mascherano about Diaz. The outlet claims that along with PSG, the Colombian is wanted by Barcelona and Bayern Munich as well.

Mascherano, however, believes Diaz has found the right club for him at Liverpool – he thinks they are a perfect fit for each other.

He said: “He is a great player, very decisive, especially when it comes to playing in one-on-one duels. The truth is that I think he has arrived at a team that fits him just right.

“If there is something that Liverpool have is that they love players like Díaz who leave everything on the field and have that strength and leave everything on the field.

“That’s why I think he fits right where he has arrived.”

Liverpool have set a huge asking price for Luis Diaz

Liverpool signed Luis Diaz from Porto for an initial fee of £37 million back in January 2022 (Sky Sports).

The Colombia international has been a really good player for the Reds. Injuries have bothered him, but he has mostly been available this season and has performed brilliantly.

Diaz appears to be a wanted man, with Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain all said to be interested in his services.

Two of the above clubs are capable of spending a fortune to lure him in.

However, Liverpool have already named their price to sell Diaz this summer – an eye-watering £75 million, which is the same fee they paid to sign Virgil van Dijk all those years ago.

It will be interesting to see if any of the interested clubs would be willing to go that far to sign Diaz in the upcoming summer transfer window.
