Jack Grealish sends three-word response to Josko Gvardiol’s Instagram post after Man City vs Real Madrid

Jack Grealish has sent a response to Josko Gvardiol’s latest Instagram post following Manchester City’s 3-3 draw against Real Madrid.

The defender, after initially being an injury doubt, ended up completing the full 90 minutes against Carlo Ancelotti’s side in City’s first-leg quarter-final clash at the Santiago Bernabeu.

In the second half, after Phil Foden levelled the score to 2-2, Gvardiol scored his first goal for City to put his side ahead before Federico Valverde scored the final goal of the game.

After the match, the 22-year-old took to social media to share a post and commemorate what was a special game in his career, which then saw him receive a friendly message from one of his teammates.

The Croatian shared a post on his official Instagram page that included several images of him in action during Tuesday’s draw.

In the caption, Gvardiol said, “Unforgettable night at the Bernabeu. First goal in City colours. Let’s bring the fire home next week!”

This post then caught the attention of Grealish, who sent this short but sweet response to his teammate.

He said: “What a boy.”

Gvardiol’s impressive display against Real

Looking back over Tuesday’s big game, in addition to scoring his first goal for the club, Gvardiol made four tackles, three interceptions and one clearance.

This display ultimately earned the Croatian an overall match rating of 7.8/10 from SofaScore, making him the highest-rated player in the City team.

With that taken into account, it’s easy to see why Grealish has sent such a complimentary message to his teammate on this occasion.

Looking ahead to next week’s big showdown with Real in the second-leg tie, Pep Guardiola will be hoping that his players, including Grealish and Gvardiol, will be able to deliver the sort of performance that will secure the club’s place in the semi-finals.
