‘Undeniable’: Eric Dier says 21-year-old player Man City have been linked with is ‘the best’ he’s ever seen

Eric Dier has claimed that one player who has been linked with a transfer move to Manchester City is one of the best he’s ever seen.

The former Tottenham Hotspur defender joined Bayern Munich back in the previous January transfer window.

Since then, the 30-year-old has made 12 appearances for Thomas Tuchel’s side across the Bundesliga and Champions League.

Now though, the Englishman has shared his thoughts on one player he is currently sharing the dressing room with, who also has a recent connection to City.

Speaking in a recent edition of the FC Bayern Podcast, Dier had this to say about Jamal Musiala, who the Citizens have reportedly considered signing this summer due to his apparent frustrations at the German club.

He said: “I knew about Jamal, but to see him up close and to play on the same team as him, he’s the best talent I’ve ever seen I think, what surprised me the most is his physicality.

“It surprised me how fast, how agile and how strong he is. Pair that with his technical ability, which as an offensive player is the icing, and his talent is undeniable.”

Jamal Musiala could be a star signing for City

At the age of 21, Musiala has made 159 senior appearances for Bayern across all competitions, scoring 43 goals and supplying 30 assists along the way.

His latest appearance for the German club saw the midfielder complete the full 90 minutes in their 2-2 draw against Arsenal in the first leg of their quarter-final clash with the Gunners in the Champions League.

In this game, Musiala made three key passes in total, more than any other Bayern player on the night.

The midfielder ultimately earned himself an overall match rating of 7.1/10 from SofaScore for his efforts against Arsenal, which is higher than seven other Bayern players in the starting XI managed to get.

Now that Dier has shed even more light on how impressive the young German international is, we feel that if City were to sign Musiala from Bayern this summer, it could be a very special move for the Blues to make.
