Three shock transfer exits that could help take Arsenal to the next level this summer

Mikel Arteta could try to take Arsenal to the next level this summer by unexpectedly cashing-in on these three players.

Arsenal are set for a busy transfer window this summer.

Mikel Arteta is likely to oversee plenty of exits from the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal already know that Aaron Ramsdale is almost certain to depart. Cedric Soares will also leave the club as a free agent at the end of this season, with Mohamed Elneny likely to follow suit.

Arsenal are also open to offers on three of their Hale End academy graduates, namely, Emile Smith Rowe, Eddie Nketiah, and Reiss Nelson.

There are also question marks over the futures of Thomas Partey and Jorginho. There could also be some more unexpected departures this summer.

As long as there is an upgrade lined up to come in and take their place in the squad, Arteta may seek to raise some extra funds by cashing-in on some important or in-form players whilst their stock is high.

Three surprise players Arsenal could sell this summer

Leandro Trossard

Leandro Trossard represents the most unlikely candidate for a departure on this list. The Belgian is in blistering form at the moment. Trossard made Arsenal history with his goal against Bayern Munich last time out. His versatility makes him incredibly useful to Arteta. Arsenal are now set to offer Trossard a new contract.

However, there is an argument that now is the perfect time to cash-in on the £27 million former Brighton man. At 29-years-old, he isn’t an improving player, and time is running out for the Gunners to make back anything like the fee they paid for him. The player also hasn’t been able to ever establish himself as a regular starter.

The Gunners need a winger who can really compete with the likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli for their place in the team. In any case, Arteta may want to re-think handing Trossard a new deal.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

Oleksandr Zinchenko was a revelation in North London when he joined the club from Manchester City in the summer of 2022. His inverted interpretation of the left-back role transformed the way that Arteta’s side build up their attacking moves.

However, recurrent injury issues have been an issue for the Ukrainian. Zinchenko is also something of a defensive liability.

Arsenal currently have an issue at left-back, as no one player has really been able to establish himself as a clear first-choice pick in that part of the pitch. In order to make room for a much-needed new arrival, at least one player will have to make way. Zinchenko could be the one to get the chop.

Jakub Kiwior

Jakub Kiwior has been one of the surprise success stories of Arsenal’s season. Given William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes have established such a strong partnership, the Poland international was never going to get regular game time in his preferred position in the heart of the defence. However, following an injury crisis, the 24-year-old emerged as a solid left-back option. At one stage, Kiwior looked as though he had made himself first-choice in that position.

However, against Bayern Munich last time out, the £20 million former Spezia man looked out of his depth and was hooked at half-time. Whilst his stock is so high, this summer might be the time to move Kiwior on, hopefully for a decent profit.
