Ditton Parish Council asks residents to give views on 1,300-home ‘new village’ Bradbourne off Hermitage Lane

Plans to build a 1,300-home village in the countryside will be debated at a parish council meeting with residents asked to attend to give their views.

The East Malling Trust has submitted an outline planning application to Tonbridge and Malling council to cover 80 hectares of agricultural land between Kilnbarn Road and Hermitage Lane in Ditton.

The site falls partly in East Malling but is mostly in Ditton and the development is to be known as Bradbourne.

The proposal includes plans for a new school and commercial and retail space and will be accessed via two roads both leading out onto Hermitage Lane.

Nicola Greenway, clerk to Ditton Parish Council, said: “There is a huge amount of concern about the devastating impact this would have on the area.

“Ditton Parish Council will be holding a public meeting on Monday evening (April 15) at Ditton Community Centre, starting at 7.30pm where the parish will give a presentation on its objections to this application and then invite residents and other interested parties to put forward their concerns too.”
