USF Announces Stadium Groundbreaking

Stadium Master Plan (USF Athletics)

TAMPA, Fla. – The week of October 14 will be about far much more than homecoming at USF. The university announced Thursday that groundbreaking for the on-campus stadium will coincide with homecoming week, which will be capped off by a game against UAB on October 19.

On Tuesday, the university announced its selection of Manhattan Construction Company, H.J. Russell & Company, and DuCon LLC as the construction management team for the new venue.

The stadium is slated to be ready for the 2027 season.

“Choosing a construction management team is a big step forward in our process to deliver a world-class stadium that will transform the future of our university and the on-campus experience,” said USF athletics director Michael Kelly and USF Foundation CEO Jay Stroman, co-chairs of the stadium planning committee, in a statement.

Manhattan and DuCon have offices in Tampa. H.J Russell & Company is based in Atlanta.

Manhattan provided construction management services when Raymond James Stadium was upgraded prior to hosting the College Football Playoff championship game following the 2016 season.
