Josko Gvardiol now uses just one word to describe Erling Haaland

Josko Gvardiol has used one word to sum Erling Haaland up.

In November, Gvardiol praised Haaland, as he complimented his ability to be quiet during a game and out of nowhere, manage to score a hat-trick.

After he signed for Manchester City, the Croatian admitted that “luckily”, he does not have to face the 23-year-old anymore due to being in the same team as the star striker.

In the season before Josko Gvardiol joined City, he saw his defence get torn apart by Erling Haaland in RB Leipzig’s 7-0 battering to them in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16, scoring five goals in the game.

Also, Gvardiol had to go toe-to-toe with Haaland in the Bundesliga, which must have been a difficult experience for him.

Nowadays, the former Dinamo Zagreb defender has one of the best views from any stadium as he can witness the Norwegian rip defences to shreds at will.

Gvardiol describes Haaland using just one word

Of course, the 22-year-old is aware of how phenomenal a striker the treble-winner has been for several years.

However, playing against Haaland in training daily, Gvardiol now has first-hand experience in trying to tame him.

On some days, certain centre-backs might either have dominated the Sky Blues’ number nine or simply had a poor day at the office.

But Gvardiol now has gone toe-to-toe with the Leeds-born marksman on his best and worst days.

As a result, Josko Gvardiol was quizzed by beIN SPORTS Asia to use one word to describe Erling Haaland.

“Beast”, he said.

Best way to describe Erling Haaland

In our view, Josko Gvardiol used the best possible word to sum up his feelings about Erling Haaland.

Haaland is a beast in every sense of the word.

Physically, the ex-Molde goalscorer is stronger and faster than most players we have ever come across.

In terms of his mentality, Erling Haaland seemingly goes into games ready to kill, which is perhaps what separates him from most other strikers in the game.

While the artistry and magic of several footballers is always celebrated, Haaland is cut from a different cloth of being a true beast and as a result, a player like him has always been a breath of fresh air since he burst onto the scene.
