Priceless Manchester United player's value has risen by 1666%, only seven players have had sharper rise

This season for Manchester United there have been a handful of young players who’ve been on fire, now one’s transfer value has exploded.

For Erik ten Hag this season, there is probably only really one positive to take, and that is how well he has used the youth.

Alejandro Garnacho has became a superstar for Manchester United this season, as has breathtaking midfielder Kobbie Mainoo.

Rasmus Hojlund has impressed in parts and the likes of Willy Kambwala has also broken through into the first-team.

It’s probably the manager’s saving grace with Ineos taking a serious look at his position ahead of this summer.

Now it’s emerged that one player’s value has exploded which will be another positive for Ten Hag.

Kobbie Mainoo sees transfer value rise exponentially

The player at the club who’s raised his transfer value the most this season is 18-year-old phenomenon, Mainoo.

Since returning from injury in November, he’s been an ever present in the midfield, and is probably the first name on Ten Hag’s team sheet right now.

He’s shown he can do it all, passing, dribbling, defensive work and also shooting – just like he raved about Paul Scholes for doing – as his three excellent goals have shown.

All of this explains why his transfer value has seen a 1666% rise this campaign, and even then it’s probably now quite accurate of how much he’s actually worth.

The valuation comes according to CIES who have placed a £45.4m value on the superbly talented midfielder, this a sharp rise of £42.8m from his previous £2.6m – with only seven players having a higher rise.

That being said, Mainoo is priceless and there’s no way he’d be sold at all, never mind for a fee like this.

He isn’t the only player to see his value grow massively, with two teammates joining him.

Both Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho see values grow

While Mainoo’s rase was the most extreme at Old Trafford, he’s been joined on CIES’ list by two of his teammates.

Both Garnacho and Hojlund have seen their values rise by significant amount, albeit a lot less than Mainoo’s.

Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund transfer value update

As seen above, the two young talents have joined Mainoo in their values rising as they now approach the £100m mark.

This is wildly deserves and makes the fee paid for Hojlund look a bargain as he’s clearly set to be a top striker.

But again, neither are likely to be sold, and if they were, a £92.4m fee wouldn’t be close to the asking price.
