Newark boxer Chad Sugden to be back on the ring Friday in Rotherham against tough Czech Ondrej Budera

Newark boxer and former English title contender Chad Sugden will be back in the ring this weekend after almost two years.

Sugden will be back in action on Friday where he’ll be fighting at the Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham on the 26RR Promotions Show against tough Czech Ondrej Budera.

Budera, a seasoned fighter from Pardubice, Czech Republic, brings a wealth of experience to the bout.

With a record that includes 18 wins, Budera is known for his resilience and power.

“This will be my 17th fight as a professional boxer and with just over a week to go, I’m feeling really good,” said Sugden.

“Sparring’s gone very well, my weight is good and I’m feeling strong.

“I am fit and definitely ready to go.

“Although it’s been a fair while since I was last in the ring, I’ve always felt like a complete boxer and now my mentality is better – I can’t wait to get back out there, win this fight in an exciting fashion and then go on from there.”

“Chad has worked really hard behind the scenes to get himself into the best shape possible for this return after nearly two years out,” added his father, Suggy’s Gym head coach Dean Sugden.

“He has the biggest and the best following, his supporters are literally the greatest and always very vocal.

“The response to his return has been no different, with a couple of hundred tickets already sold, there will be a big crowd who’ll be looking forward to heading over to Rotherham to support him.

“”A few tickets are still available, together with transport to and from the event, but you need to act fast – just drop into Suggy’s Gym or message me as soon as possible to find out more and make your bookings.

“Newark is on tour again and Chad is back with a tough assignment in his first fight in two years.

“His opponent Ondrej Buderais ranked number 7 in his country, with 18 wins and nine KOs to his record.

“So Chad will need to be on it, but he’s always looking to test himself which is why he is so popular with his fans.

“His timing is good and with lots of variety in his sparring, the full focus in the past weeks has been on this return and although it’s been a hard camp, we’ve been having fun and enjoying the grind.

“I’m really excited to see Chad do what he does best on Friday, when everyone is in for a treat as Stefy Bull and Ryan Rhodes have an action-packed card through 26RR Promotions that includes a couple of title fights.”
