5-star QB Julian Lewis locks in official visit to Auburn

Five-star quarterback Julian Lewis has locked in an official visit to Auburn, according to On3’s Steve Wiltfong.

Lewis, who is ranked the No. 2 quarterback in the country and No. 9 overall recruit, will be back in Auburn the weekend of June 14, per Wiltfong.

Lewis, who attends Carrollton (Ga.) High School, is no stranger to Auburn. He has visited the Plains at least six times, including twice in March.

“That was amazing,” Longstreet’s father Kevin told Wiltfong. “Their environment, their coaches, Coach (Hugh) Freeze, you can see over the past year how much has been poured into that place and its prime for a quarterback.

“It’s definitely a great fit. A great, great fit. There is a lot of opportunity there. Auburn is a really good university.”

Auburn’s big wide receiver haul in the ’24 class is something that impresses the younger Lewis.

The wide receiver class of 2024, which included five-star recruit Cam Coleman, is something Lewis doesn’t take lightly.

“Yeah, that was serious,” Julian Lewis told Auburn Live. “You have to have guys to throw the ball to. Kids like Cam Coleman and people like that you can get the rock to. That is our job at the end of the day, so that is definitely something to look at.”

Lewis also has official visits scheduled to Georgia (May 31-June 2), USC (June 7-9) and Colorado (June 21-23), according to Wiltfong.

Lewis, who is listed at 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, is the No. 3 recruit in Georgia, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

On3 Scouting Summary on Lewis

Polished signal caller who turned in the most productive freshman season among 2026 quarterbacks. Has been touted as a high-profile prospect, earning offers as a middle schooler. Measured in at around 6-foot-0.5, 185 pounds with a 9.5-inch hand prior to his sophomore season. Turned in a strong freshman campaign, completing 65.5% of his passes for over 4,100 yards and 48 touchdowns against 12 interceptions while leading his team to a state title appearance.

Played well while facing some of the strongest competition among 2026 quarterbacks. Has advanced accuracy and overall polish at this early stage. Very consistent on a throw to throw basis in the camp setting. Shows the ability to locate passes to several areas, including over the middle of the field. Shows nice touch and ability to layer the football. Navigates the pocket well, sliding up to elude pass rushers. Can make defenders miss in space.

Has plenty of time to continue growing, but is not overly physically imposing at this stage. Flashes a good arm, but his upside as a pure, top arm talent remains to be seen. Can also continue improving as a creative playmaker as he gets more varsity experience. Figures to be among the top quarterbacks in 2026 as the cycle progresses.
