Report: Club think they can sign 'fantastic' Tottenham player for just £5m; would be a £16m loss for Levy

Tottenham could well be set for a number of outgoing transfers this summer as Ange Postecoglou gets to work again.

The Spurs boss has been backed in the two previous windows he’s been involved with as Tottenham manager and ahead of this summer, things are looking up again.

Tottenham are believed to be in a smart position in terms of FFP. That means they could be free to spend a decent chunk of money to improve the squad.

Of course, along with new signings, Spurs also have room in their squad to get rid of a few.

Those players could bring in vital funds for the kitty as well as clearing the wage bill as well.

And according to reports, La Liga side Sevilla feel they can get one of Tottenham’s players for a whopping £16m less than Daniel Levy forked out in the first place.

Sevilla think they can sign Bryan Gil for just £5m

According to Spanish outlet VamosSevilla, Sevilla feel they can capitalise on Tottenham’s lack of trust in Gil to bring him back to Spain.

It’s claimed that Sevilla feel Tottenham will finally allow Gil to move on this summer and with that, they feel that a deal worth just £5m could be possible.

Gil has barely featured for Tottenham under Ange Postecoglou and like so many in this Spurs squad, doesn’t seem to have much of a future.

However, Tottenham did shell out a big £21m fee for Gil in the first place. With that, it remains to be seen whether Daniel Levy would allow such a cheap deal to be done.

Postecoglou has previously lauded Gil as a ‘fantastic‘ member of his squad.

However, a summer definitely looks on the cards.

Gil has to leave Spurs

This is one of those signings that just has not worked out and the time has come for all to move on.

The £5m fee from Sevilla here doesn’t sound much and when you look at the £21m forked out, it does seem a little low.

But on the reverse of that, who else is really going to be paying such a fee for Bryan Gil right now?

Tottenham are best just cashing in for whatever they can get right now and moving on. Gil, too, needs an exit from London and a move back to Spain is the ideal scenario for him.
