Oklahoma Woman Says Stolen SUV Was A Tip She Received When She Worked At Waffle House

Angela Harrison (TPD)

An Oklahoma woman told authorities that a Waffle House patron gave her an SUV as a birthday tip while she worked at the restaurant.

According to police, on April 1, 2024, at around 3:55 p.m., the Tulsa Police Department's Real Time Information Center (RTIC) received an alert regarding a stolen white Jeep Liberty at Admiral and Darlington.

Authorities were able to track the stolen Jeep until Officers could initiate a traffic stop near Admiral and Sheridan.

The driver of the vehicle, Angela Harrison, claimed she was at a gas station just an hour before.

Ms. Harrison said she ran into a former customer of hers when she worked at Waffle House, and he gave her $10 cash and the white Jeep Liberty because her 53rd birthday was coming up in a few weeks.

However, the Jeep was reported stolen before Christmas, and on January 14th, detectives were able to obtain a surveillance photo depicting Angela Harrison driving the car.

Harrison claimed to be the woman in the picture, but she was unable to explain how she obtained the car in January, given that it had only been given to her an hour earlier.

Police say the owner of the SUV passed away last year, and the vehicle was returned to his family.
