The US Department of State, USAID, and the US Department of Commerce, in partnership with the Government of Ukraine and the US Chamber of Commerce, will host the US-Ukraine Partnership Forum 2024, which will take place on April 17 at the Chamber's headquarters in Washington, according to the US Department of State press service.
The forum will bring together business leaders, government officials, and politicians to collectively explore the best ways to assist Ukraine in its economic recovery.
Alongside Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo and Prime Minister of Ukraine H.E. Denys Shmyhal, Special Representative for Ukraine’s Economic Recovery Penny Pritzker will deliver keynote remarks at the Forum.
Under Secretary Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment Jose W. Fernandez and Coordinator for US Assistance to Europe, Eurasia, and Central Asia Maria Longi will participate in panels focusing on economic recovery in Ukraine.
Special Representative for Ukraine’s Economic Recovery Penny Pritzker will also cohost a roundtable discussion with the Government of Ukraine and US government leadership on opportunities and challenges in investing in Ukraine’s agricultural sector. This discussion will be closed to the press.
Earlier, the US State Department, together with the German Marshall Fund, announced the creation of the Ukraine Cities Partnership for Sustainable Infrastructure. This new public-private partnership will help Ukrainians redesign and rebuild sustainable, inclusive, and resilient cities.
It has also been reported that Germany is lobbying among EU partners for the creation of a new investment fund to support private investment in Ukraine, aiming to address the challenge of the enormous costs of post-war reconstruction.
Additionally, the European Commission has developed a plan for Ukraine's recovery following the end of the war with Russia.
