Gaza war: Israeli strikes kill, injure dozens in Gaza City

At least 10 Palestinians were killed in Israeli strikes that targeted areas in and around Gaza City, Palestinian media reported on Saturday.

Israeli raids targeted a house belonging to the Al-Assi family, in Zarqa in central Gaza City, killing at least five civilians and wounding 30 others, Wafa said.

Additionally, two Palestinians were also killed in an Israeli bombing targeting north of the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip, while others were killed in Beit Hanoun in the north of the territory.

An Iranian retaliation on an Israeli strikes, which killed dozens in an 1 April attack on consulate in the Syrian capital Damascus, is also looming, with the White House saying on Friday that the threat from Iran remained "real".

Asked what his message was to Iran on striking Israel, Biden said: "Don't".

"We are devoted to the defence of Israel, we will support Israel, we will help defend Israel and Iran will not succeed," he said.

Several international companies and entities have taken measures to avert any risk should Iran strike Israel.

Australian airline Qantas said on Saturday it would redirect its long-haul flights between Perth and London to avoid Iran's airspace, while Germany has warned its citizens to leave Iran, and The Netherlands said it will close its embassy in Tehran on Sunday.
