'I love watching': Peter Crouch blown away on Saturday by display from 24-year-old linked with Chelsea

Chelsea are linked in the transfer rumour mill with a whole host of players as the summer window draws closer. It’s interesting that one of those individuals has just left Peter Crouch in awe with his performance this afternoon.

The Blues are rumoured to be on the search for a new striker to lead the line. The Sun reported in March that Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly really wants the club to sign a clinical centre-forward in the summer.

One of Chelsea’s transfer targets in the No 9 position reminded everyone on Saturday of his quality.

Chelsea target on fire this weekend

Alexander Isak, who’s linked as a Chelsea target, put in a brilliant display earlier today for Newcastle United.

The Swedish striker scored a goal in each half during Newcastle’s 4-0 league victory at home to Tottenham.

Our guess is Spurs centre-back Micky Van de Ven will be having nightmares after facing the 24-year-old Magpies star.

FootballTransfers reported back in January that Chelsea were looking at Newcastle’s Isak as a potential target.

It’s now been claimed by SportsLens this month that Chelsea are more likely to show interest in signing £100m-rated striker Isak than Arsenal or Spurs.

Peter Crouch loves Alexander Isak

Peter Crouch thinks Newcastle’s Isak was outstanding in the Saturday demolition of Spurs at St James’ Park.

It’s now 21 goals and counting this season across all competitions for the Toon frontman.

When reacting to Isak’s latest performance at full-time, Crouch said via TNT Sports 1 (2:30pm, 13 April): “He’s someone I love watching play football. He’s so calm when he gets in those [attacking] positions.

“He cut Van de Ven up a few times today. He seems to do the right decisions all the time. He goes through 1v1 and he’s so calm in those positions you always know he’s going to score.

“He’s got great feet. He leads the line, such a difficult thing to do as a centre-forward to lead the line on your own.”
