Penn State football is back on the field today.

STATE COLLEGE — Penn State will play its annual Blue-White game at 2 p.m. today. This is your home for live updates before, during, and after the controlled scrimmage at Beaver Stadium. The sun is shining here but winds, which are sustained at roughly 15-20 miles per hour with gusts of up to 40 miles per hour possible, are present and likely to have an impact on the kicking and passing games. But, dry conditions are expected. The Big Ten Network is televising today’s game, with Lions letterman Matt Millen (color commentary) and Adam Breneman (sideline reporter) on the call with Jason Ross Jr. (play by play).

Drew Allar is 7 of 11 for 68 yards and Beau Pribula 3 of 5 for 8 yards and an interception. Cam Wallace has a game-high 35 rushing yards. Trey Wallace leads all receivers with two catches for 31 yards. Zakee Wheatley has an interception. The leading tackler is cornerback AJ Harris with six.

2:27 — Freshman running back Quinton Martin Jr., has the first touchdown of the 2024 Blue-White game. He raced in from nine yards out to give Team White a 7-0 lead. Ryan Barker made the extra point.

First quarter Blue-White updates

2:21 — After one quarter of play, it’s 0-0. Drew Allar is 5 of 9 for 38 yards. Beau Pribula is two of four for eight yards and has an interception (Zakee Wheatley picked it). The leading rusher is Cam Wallace with two carries for 17 yards. Omari Evans, with one catch for 20 yards, is the leading receiver.

2:19 — We have our first turnover of the day. Safety Zakee Wheatley, who forced numerous turnovers this spring, picked off a Beau Pribula pass on Team Blue’s second drive.

2:17 — Drew Allar delivered a fine throw on 4th and 5, but Kaden Saunders saw it bounce right off his hands for the first drop of the day. Team White had a bit of a drive going after Liam Clifford caught a 14 yard pass before Cam Wallace ripped off a 13 yard run, but it quickly ended from there.

2:10 — After a false start on the game’s first play set Team Blue back five yards, it ultimately went three and out. The only positive play was a Pribula three-yard pass to Joey Schlaffeer. Team White takes over with 10 minutes left in the first quarter.

2:05 — We are underway. Redshirt freshman Ryan Barker booted the opening kickoff for Team White to Team Blue returner London Montgomery. There was no return, of course. But, Blue has the ball first.
