Man Utd fans have a lot to say about Willy Kambwala after Bournemouth match, they all make same complaint

Manchester United fans have dropped their two cents on Willy Kambwala after the Red Devils defender’s performance against Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday.

Willy Kambwala broke into the first team this season and the Manchester United centre-back made his senior debut under manager Erik ten Hag.

The 19-year-old has made sporadic appearances and gained valuable first-team experience, with Kambwala playing in seven league matches this season.

However, Erik ten Hag has been forced to turn to Kambwala for his United starting XI after his other defenders have been ruled out of action due to injuries.

Kambwala came off the bench and replaced the injured Jonny Evans in the 4-3 Premier League defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge earlier this month.

Following his second-half cameo against Chelsea, the United youngster was thrust into the starting XI alongside Harry Maguire for the 2-2 draw against Liverpool.

United manager Ten Hag is without Victor Lindelof, Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Jonny Evans, all of whom are sidelined due to different injuries.

With four first-team defenders out of action, Kambwala returned to the starting XI for his second consecutive Premier League match alongside Harry Maguire.

Kambwala struggles for Man Utd vs Bournemouth

Bournemouth took the lead in the Premier League clash against Manchester United after Dominic Solanke opened the scoring at the Vitality Stadium.

Willy Kambwala slipped during the Bournemouth opener, which created space for Dominic Solanke to charge through and slot the ball past Andre Onana.

The United defender was placed in the predicament in the first place after Argentina winger Alejandro Garnacho lost the ball with a poor first touch.

Kambwala’s woes continued for Bournemouth’s second after Kambwala was exposed by the lack of support from his teammates.

Justin Kluivert found himself in ample space and was not picked up by Diogo Dalot, who was spotted telling off Kambwala during a baffling moment.

The Bournemouth player then cut into the box and put the ball on his right foot before firing a powerful low strike past Andre Onana into the bottom corner.

Man Utd fans react to Kambwala’s performance

United fans on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, had mixed feelings on Kambwala’s performance against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

Red Devils supporters said that the United youngster had an “absolute nightmare” in the first half, while others ‘felt’ for Kambwala due to the players around him.

Dalot was blasted for ‘exposing’ the United youth academy product, with another claiming that Kambwala is “being targeted” because of the Portugal full-back.

United fans’ biggest complaint about Kambwala’s performance came down to the players not supporting him enough, including Dalot’s contribution in defence.

One fan said: “That is shocking from Kambwala, he’s having an absolute nightmare!”

Somebody else commented: “Feel for Kambwala. Trying to find his feet and Dalot beside and Casemiro in front of him are no help to him at all.”

A third added: “Quite easy to play against when Kambwala, Dalot and your midfield are all in completely different postcodes.”

“Can’t imagine what Dalot is doing making Kambwala exposed,” another tweeted.

While a fifth wrote: “Kambwala has been horrendous. Has no idea what he needs to do in this system.”

Someone else posted: “Kambwala is clearly being targeted here. Dalot isn’t helping him at all. We look so disorganised.”

“The space between Kambwala and Dalot is huge. We are so bad,” a seventh said.
