The final games of the 2023/24 campaign are now upon Sunderland with all eyes on the summer. It has been far from a memorable year so far for the Stadium of Light faithful as their dreams of promotion quickly faded.

With promotion no doubt the aim next season, questions over the first-team remain.

One such player is Callum Styles. The Barnsley loanee has featured eight times since joining, playing in various roles.

However, now in his more familiar role under Mike Dodds, Styles has finally shown his ability. The question is with a new manager set to come this summer, should Sunderland acquire Styles on a full-time basis?

Burnley investor share ‘pretty crazy’ thing about Sunderland

Despite being out of the Premier League for many years now, Sunderland’s name is still known over the globe.

One of the biggest reasons for this is Sunderland ‘Til I Die which recently released its third season of the show.

One man who also took an interest in the show was NFL star and Burnley investor J.J. Watt. The American said the show was one of the ‘best things he had ever seen’ as it documented Sunderland’s fall to League One, and recently, their promotion back to the Championship.

Exit hinted for experienced Sunderland star

While incoming will be expected by fans this summer, outgoings seem inevitable.

Jack Clarke and Jobe Bellingham have been constantly linked away in 2024 while Anthony Patterson and Chris Rigg have also attracted interest from Premier League sides.

Now, one of Sunderland’s more experienced stars could be off in Patrick Roberts. Dodds hinted in a recent interview that the winger may be off after the pair had an ‘honest conversation’.
