“This is not my United,” says former Red Devils winger after watching Bournemouth display

Manchester United suffered yet another embarrassing performance against Bournemouth. The Red Devils were not at their best.

Club captain Bruno Fernandes was the catalyst for obtaining even a point for Erik ten Hag‘s side. His close-range finish and penalty meant that United came away from the Vitality with at least a draw.

Was it deserved? Well, probably not. It was once again a rather spineless performance from Manchester United.

Fans are becoming seriously fed up with the quality on display.

Ex-Manchester United man speaks out

Manchester United fans are slowly losing faith in the side. It’s not that they aren’t getting results, but it’s how they’re doing it.

The Red Devils are one of the least enjoyable teams to watch in the Premier League currently. Their football is stale and lacks direction. It’s worrying given the fact Ten Hag’s had nearly two years at the helm.

The lacklustre Bournemouth display was the final straw for some, including former Manchester United winger – Gordon Hill.

He took to Twitter after the game to express his thoughts. It’s safe to say they went positive. He wrote:

‘Words are beyond me now, just cannot watch this, excuses after excuses. Just can not watch this. This is not my United.’

Hill mimics the feelings of United fans around the globe. It’s becoming a bit of a chore to watch the Red Devils at the moment.

A glimmer of hope for Manchester United…

With so much doom and gloom, it is also important to remember there are some positive things happening around Old Trafford currently.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his Ineos mob are set to propel United into a new era, the first-team squad has gems like Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo coming through – but arguably most excitingly, the academy is thriving.

Hill mentioned this in his next Tweet, showing that the future could look a little brighter around Carrington.

‘One bit of a sparkle which still gives hope is the U18s. Are putting on a show. Perhaps we should play them instead of the team out there, may not get a result but boy would we see some effort and determination. Just my thoughts.’

The under-18s are showing up Ten Hag’s side at the moment. They’ve been utterly dominant and on the brink of claiming the league title.

Even if the now looks rather bleak, there is hope for the future with this talented bunch.
