'Crazy': Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool did something vs Crystal Palace he 'cannot even explain'

Jurgen Klopp seemed very disappointed by what his ‘horrendous’ Liverpool side did against Crystal Palace today.

April has been a bad month for Liverpool so far. As exciting as February and March were, this month is now turning into a disaster for the Reds.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have fallen toa second consecutive defeat at home at the hallowed Anfield for the first time this season.

This time, it was Crystal Palace who took all three points in a game that the Reds will feel like they didn’t really deserve to win.

Klopp’s team were poor. They allowed Palace to score way too easily in the first-half, and they wasted a plethora of opportunities at the other end as well.

Jurgen Klopp on ‘horrendous’ Liverpool performance

At the same time, while Liverpool created chances going forward, Palace created plenty of chances themselves.

The away side were unlucky not to score a second and needed essential contributions from the likes of Andy Robertson and Alisson Becker.

Jurgen Klopp’s frustration was obvious at the side-lines at times. His side just simply weren’t at the races of today.

Speaking to beIN SPORTS after the game, Klopp said his side did something he couldn’t even explain himself.

“The goal we conceded is horrendous,” Klopp said. “And from a specific moment on we started controlling the game. It was not as bad anymore. Second-half, we should have turned it around but we didn’t.

“Because the chance, I cannot even explain why we didn’t use our chances. It was crazy. Bit unlucky definitely as well and so instead of three points we have nil and that is not good.”

Where does this leave Liverpool’s Premier League title chances?

At this stage, Liverpool will need a miracle to lift the Premier League title. Both Manchester City and Arsenal are now in a better position, with Liverpool having a lot of tough away games now on the way.

Right now, it’s difficult to be optimistic about Liverpool’s chances. However, if there is one thing we know about Klopp’s teams is that they don’t give up.

If anyone can turn this mess around, it’s Klopp and his Liverpool side.
