The Big Blue Nation couldn’t be more excited about the start of the Mark Pope era at Kentucky.

Hours ahead of Pope’s introductory press conference at Rupp Arena as the Wildcats’ new men’s basketball coach, hundreds upon hundreds of Kentucky fans starting lining up around Central Bank Center in anticipation of this historic event. Everyone can’t seem to wait to hear from Pope, who will be officially introduced as head coach this afternoon at 4:30 p.m. EST inside Rupp.

Even Pope himself arrived early, greeting members of the BBN on his way into the building. If you aren’t already on your way to Rupp Arena, I would suggest you start the trek now. The buzz is palpable…

If you can’t make it to downtown Lexington this afternoon for Pope’s first presser, you can watch from home on the SEC Network+ or UKAthletics.com. You can also listen on KSR affiliates, including 630 WLAP. KSR’s Matt Jones will also do a “postgame” call-in show from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
