Ollie Watkins brutally calls out Troy Deeney after Aston Villa’s win at Arsenal

Arsenal know too well what it’s like having to deal with Troy Deeney’s nonsense because the former striker has been at it again.

This time Aston Villa and Ollie Watkins watched and listened to him spout nonsense on the radio about the Premier League hitman.

On Sunday, Unai Emery’s side, who are pushing for Champions League football, upset the apple cart by beating Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates.

It was a deserved win for Aston Villa, with Leon Bailey opening the scoring late in the second half, before Ollie Watkins scored his 19th Premier League goal of the campaign.

Added to that, he has 26 goals in all competitions, so to even criticise him for what he has done in the past 12 months is bonkers!

But that’s where Deeney comes into the picture, the former Birmingham City player stated last week that Watkins is ‘a winger trying to be a striker’, as he told talkSPORT.

Well, that ‘winger’ is one goal behind some bloke called Erling Haaland for the Premier League’s Golden Boot, not bad for a ‘winger’, eh Troy?!

As Watkins should, he was sure to address this rubbish via his Instagram story.

The 28-year-old wrote ‘not bad for a winger trying to be a striker’, as he tagged Deeney into the message and posted a shushing emoji.

Concentrate on Birmingham City

Perhaps Troy should worry and focus more on the rubbish his former side and boyhood club Birmingham are producing in their relegation dogfight in the Championship.

Players like Watkins and proving to be the beaming light for the Midlands, with Villa, more than likely, heading towards Champions League football.

But Birmingham, as they have done throughout their history, are the embarrassment of the second city and still in the shadow of Villa

Villa marching on in Europe, whilst our neighbours are just about keeping themselves away from League One!
