Donald Trump at a rally on Saturday went off on a tangent about the Battle of Gettysburg, prompting him to be ridiculed on social media.

"Adlinthin," "Magastine," and "weak nicks" were among the things Trump said at his Saturday rally in Pennsylvania. He also gave an odd description of the historical battle.

"Gettysburg. What an unbelievable battle. That was the battle of Gettysburg," Trump said. "What an unbelievable I mean, it was so much and so interesting and so vicious and horrible and so beautiful and so many different ways… Gettysburg wow."

Social media users appeared astonished by the made up lesson.

"When you've got an oral report but forgot to read the book," said progressive journalist Brian Tyler Cohen in response to the Trump speech.

Law & Crime's Brandi Buchman also said, "This man would march every one of his voters off to war just so he could sit back and watch the feed of it while drinking a Diet Coke. Be for real."

Popular parody page Mrs. Betty Bowers said that "Donald Trump always talks about history (or, well, *anything*) like a fourth-grader doing a book report on a book he didn’t read."

Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) said, "Trump: Gettysburg, what an amazing, horrible, just incredible, classy, terrible thing, really beautiful. I kinda went there, but had the wrong address. Robert E Lee a war hero that wasn’t captured, loser on the hill, but we miss him, really a great guy, believe me."

@traitortrumpy also chimed on the rant.

"Gettysburg was 'beautiful' what a ghoul … I’ve been there and it’s eerie to feel the death that occurred there. This guy is a complete moron."

Horror author Stephen King had this to say:

"Trump: 'Gettysburg! Wow!' What a dimbulb," he wrote on Sunday.
