'He's something different': Erling Haaland says he simply loves playing with 'amazing' £54m player at Man City

Erling Haaland has revealed that he really enjoys playing with one player at Manchester City.

Haaland seems to have a brilliant relationship with several of his teammates at the Etihad Stadium, both on and off the pitch.

One of them is Jack Grealish, with Darren Ambrose recently claiming that the Norwegian “looks happier” when he is on the pitch.

Izzy Christiansen stated in February that in her opinion, the 23-year-old was “missing” the Englishman’s presence when he was injured.

In May, Erling Haaland himself admitted that Jack Grealish was his best friend at Manchester City.

The club also released a video on their official website showcasing the camaraderie between the pair in November.

Haaland says he loves playing with “amazing” City teammate

One of the players who Haaland also seems to gel with on the pitch is Grealish as well.

The former Aston Villa captain is quite a selfless player.

As a result, Jack Grealish is not the type of attacker to go for glory if one of his teammates, such as Haaland is in the clear.

Several wingers in particular tend to do so as in the modern era, they are expected to rack up goals.

With Jack Grealish’s unselfishness combined with how he finds Erling Haaland’s runs admirably, the pair have formed a dangerous duo on the pitch.

But Haaland was not referring to the £300,000-a-week man.

Instead, Erling Haaland was asked about playing with Kevin De Bruyne and he revealed how much he enjoys playing with him.

“To play with such an amazing player for me is perfect and I really enjoy playing with him. He’s something different, the way he passes the ball and what he sees”, he said in a video with the club’s in-house media.

Erling Haaland continued to discuss Kevin De Bruyne, saying, “It’s funny, it’s difficult to explain because he is a special player and he sees things, as I say that others don’t see.”

The Leeds-born goalscorer was told how the £54.5 million man has assisted him more times (14) than one player has done for another in Europe’s top five leagues since the start of last season.

“It’s good and he’s also been injured for a long time, I don’t even need to see the ball because I know exactly where the ball’s going to come and that’s also a really good thing when I trust him so much that he’s going to pass the ball perfectly that I don’t need to watch the ball, that’s a good thing.”

Haaland and De Bruyne must be determined to have their say vs Real Madrid

In our view, Kevin De Bruyne must also count his lucky stars that he gets to play with a striker of the ilk of Erling Haaland.

The duo will go down as one of the greatest in Premier League history, up there with Dennis Bergkamp and Thierry, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba as well as Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres.

But sticking to the present, Manchester City will be hoping that Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland are at their telepathic best against Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final.

De Bruyne’s injury at the start of the campaign has meant the devastating pairing has been unable to set the world alight, especially in Europe.

But there are not many bigger stages to do so than in a straight shootout against Real Madrid in Europe’s elite competition.

The prospect of doing so must make Haaland and De Bruyne’s eyes light up, as they have another chance of showing the world that as far as duos go, none can beat them in the game currently.

Big players embrace the biggest occasions, especially when they have the opportunity to send a message to the rest of the world in tandem.
