Tickets were released for members of the public to buy last Monday morning and sold out in a matter of hours.

A total of 25,000 tickets were sold this year, making it the largest amount ever sold from a Tulips for Tapping event.

Last year, the event raised £140,268 for the charity and 15,000 tickets were sold.

It costs £3.25 million per year to run the Norfolk Hospice - £2.5 million of this is raised through fundraising, legacies, trusts and lottery.

Those who bought tickets will get a 45-minute timeslot to wander around the fields.

A spokesperson from the Norfolk Hospice said: “We are delighted to announce that tickets for the Tulips at Tapping 2024 have now sold out.

“The Norfolk Hospice Tapping House would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has purchased tickets for this event.

“Due to unprecedented demand, we understand not everyone has been able to purchase a ticket for the event this year.

“We have worked hard to balance the demand for this event with the capacity to deliver a safe and enjoyable event for those attending.”

Mark Eves, tulip grower from Norfolk Tulips, added: “We are once again overwhelmed by the support of our Tulips for Tapping event.

“We are proud to support the vital work that The Norfolk Hospice provides to the local community.

“We work tirelessly to make sure the tulips are ready for ticket holders on opening day and all we need now is for the sun to shine! We would like to remind everyone this is a ticket-only event and we look forward to welcoming you to our tulip field.”

There are no plans to release extra tickets and there is no waiting list to obtain tickets. The Norfolk Hospice has advised against buying tickets from secondhand selling sites due to reported scams.

The tulip fields will start welcoming members of the public in on Thursday, April 18 and will finish on Monday, April 29.
