Alec Baldwin film shooting: Armourer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed jailed over fatal shooting on set

The weapons supervisor for the production of Rust in 2021 has been jailed for 18 months after the film's cinematographer was shot dead.

Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter after a revolver fired by Alec Baldwin went off during a rehearsal and killed Halyna Hutchins.

The 26-year-old was in charge of weapons during the production of the western film.

Prosecutors said Gutierrez-Reed was to blame after she unintentionally brought ammunition onto the set - which is banned.

Jurors also heard the former weapons supervisor failed to follow basic gun safety protocols.

Prosecutor, Kari Morrissey said: "She was negligent, she was careless, she was thoughtless."
