7 Little Johnstons fans clock ‘spending’

As 7 Little Johnstons season 14 plays out, some eagle-eyed fans are keeping watch on what purchases the TLC stars are making.

Of course, the big spend of the series is Anna’s home. She set her eyes on becoming a homeowner and smashed her goal quickly according to her dad.

Besides that, fans have spotted Jonah once “wearing a $20k watch” on the show.

More took account of what the stars say they don’t have to spend, per a Reddit thread, the family often “acts like it has money worries.”

TLC fans wild theory

As 7 Little Johnstons episodes air this Spring, fans are taking to Reddit threads to discuss how they think the family’s earnings are distributed.

When it comes to the family’s salary, the Johnstons “could make between $25,000 and $40,000 per episode,” writes Showbiz Cheatsheet.

The family has an estimated net worth of between $2.5 and $4 million.

While the Johnston kids are actually all adults nowadays, some people believe Trent and Amber are paid “one big check” which they share among their family.

One wrote: “TLC usually only issues one check for the families. It is up to the family to determine how the money is distributed, if at all.”

However, some fans speculate the cast members each get their own paycheck, given how Anna just bought a home:

“TLC should have paid them as adults and not give the money to the parents. Anna must have gotten her money since she bought a house.”

However, one person commented: “No, they each get a check for tax purposes. You don’t write one giant check and then tax each kid. That makes no sense. Your tax rate is much lower being paid individually versus one check. Nobody gets paid as a group and you decide who gets what and how to pay taxes. They are adults, not minor kids.”

They have day jobs

When it comes to the TV show portraying the Johstons as a family conscious of its spending, fans are weighing in via social media.

One person wrote: “I feel like it’s just part of the whole plot line. Let’s make everybody think we’re the average struggling family who work hard.”

However, the family members run their own businesses and have day jobs to prove they are working.

Trent works as a grounds supervisor and Amber is a real estate agent. Anna runs an online jewelry store and Elizabeth works as a nurse.
